Parloa has powered over one billion interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI deploying Parloa at scale.
As a Staff Product Engineer, you will work directly inside Parloa's most strategic enterprise customers, building the software that makes their AI agents work in production. Agents are built by business users in Parloa's platform, AMP, which already comes with a broad library of tools and integrations. Your job is the part AMP does not cover yet for a given customer: the last connection into their systems, or a capability the product does not have. Customers are large enterprises in financial services, telecom, insurance, travel and retail.
Some engagements run for years (deepening integrations, growing into new use cases); others are short experiments (testing a new idea and deciding quickly whether it's worth building). At Staff level you take on the hardest cases of both. On many accounts you work alongside a Deployment Strategist (the account's "CPO") while you act as its "CTO," owning architecture and the build.
Areas of ownership: lead the hardest engagements and architecture decisions; build what AMP does not cover yet (systems of record, telephony/contact-center integrations, state management, data readiness, multi-agent orchestration, retrieval); own production quality and security (evals, observability, incident playbooks, PII/access control/audit trails for regulated customers); grow accounts and feed learnings back into the core product; mentor other Product Engineers and take part in hiring; use AI well and set the standard for AI-assisted work validation; represent Parloa with senior technical stakeholders.
Not: running the Parloa platform itself, agent configuration (business users do that in AMP), or people management — this is an IC role.
Tech stack: Go, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, FastAPI, frontier LLMs, MCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka/NATS.
Who you are: 8+ years of professional software development delivering production systems end to end, fluent in TypeScript or Python; 5+ years leading design/architecture of large-scale production systems in customer-facing/enterprise environments; experience leading agentic, spec-driven development in production; a track record in long-term accounts or fast experiments; experience as a mentor or tech lead; comfortable with ambiguity and customers; willing to travel up to 25%; strong English communication.
Nice to have: experience building/deploying an LLM-powered production system; eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, prompt engineering or multi-agent orchestration experience; founder/founding-engineer background; forward-deployed/solutions engineering/product engineering experience at an enterprise software or AI company; voice/conversational AI or CCaaS/telephony integration; experience in regulated industries.
